    The AVA Awards 2018 provide an opportunity to recognise, acknowledge and celebrate the contributions and achievements of our members.  The Awards also promote and raise awareness of the difference that our membership organisations are making in their local communities across Aberdeenshire.  Nominations are closed and the winners were announced at our AVA Conference on 30th April.

    This year Awards were made in the following categories:

    Outstanding Volunteer
    The recipient of this Award will be an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to an organisation or the wider community through volunteering.  The nomination will evidence the difference made and highlight any challenges which were managed either over a number of years or in a relatively short period of time.  The winner will have demonstrated exceptional commitment and dedication to their role, and positive outcomes for both the organisation and the volunteer personally.  Self-nominations will not be accepted for this award. 

    Top Team
    The recipients of this Award will be a team or organisation who are making a difference through working together to improve the lives of people in Aberdeenshire.  The nominees may have been a team for a number of years or relatively new, but the nomination will evidence the positive impact their contribution has had and highlight exceptional enthusiasm and dedication within the team.  The winners will have taken an innovative approach to successfully making a significant difference. 


    Community Impact
    The recipient of this Award will be an individual or organisation who has made a big difference to their local community.  The nomination will evidence the difference made to the lives of people in the local community and highlight positive outcomes and specific examples of the extraordinary contribution made.  The winner will have demonstrated enthusiasm and innovation to achieve a significant and positive impact in the community. 


    Inspirational Leader
    The recipient of this Award will be an exceptional leader who has demonstrated commitment and vision within their organisation, project or team, and an ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve their goals.  The nomination will evidence the positive impact their leadership has had and highlight exceptional commitment and dedication.  The nominee may be a member of staff or volunteer who has shown great leadership over a number of years, or someone who has made an impact in a relatively short period of time.  The winner will have taken an innovative approach to leadership with outstanding results.  Self-nominations for this Award will not be accepted. 

    Innovation
    The recipient of this Award will be an individual, team or organisation that has demonstrated new and innovative approaches to service delivery which have had a positive impact on its beneficiaries and/or the wider community.  The nomination will evidence the contribution made and highlight exceptional commitment and ways of working.  The winner(s) will have taken an innovative approach to achieve outstanding results.
