Results announcement!

After receiving over 42,100 votes from 8428 voters across Aberdeenshire, we are delighted to announce the results of the
Just Transition Participatory Budgeting Fund! 17 fantastic projects have been awarded funding for their green,
eco-friendly projects - read all about them here.

The Just Transition Fund is a £500 million ten-year commitment from The Scottish Government that will support projects in the North East and Moray which contribute towards the region’s transition to net zero. In 2022, 46 applications were eligible to go through to the public vote and 19 groups were awarded a share of the £333,333 funding through that vote. The successful projects included the purchase of electric vehicles, household heat loss monitoring and insulation advice, food growing advisory services, solar powered equipment to replace petrol machinery, and retrofitting of community-access facilities.

Read all about the 46 projects funded in Year 1 of the fund here.

This year, £500,000 is available to help support, enhance or kickstart eco-friendly projects in Aberdeenshire and voluntary, community and third sector organisations were invited to apply for up to £50,000 to help Scotland’s just transition to net-zero. Applications have now closed and 29 groups went through to the public vote. Find all information you need on the fund at: www.jtpbfund.scot.
