AVA is seeking to disperse awards of up to £1000 to charities and community groups operating in Aberdeenshire that are delivering services to support people who continue to be impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Specifically, priority will be given to projects that respond to people living with poor, interrupted or impaired access to food, shelter, and necessary amenities (e.g. sanitation, heat), whilst helping to build resilience in local communities.
The types of activity the money can be used for includes:
1) The provision of emergency provisions / vouchers / cash to people in immediate need;
2) Advice services to help people access housing, benefits, tax credits and other resources available to them;
3) Peer support models that encourage people to share information and build solutions together;
4) Community led action that supports people to build resilience in their community.
The application deadline for this fund is Friday 30th October 2020, and all applications will be considered after that date. Projects that are to be awarded funding will be notified by Friday 6th November, and the awarded funds will likely be available to those groups by the end of November.
