AVA is delighted to announce that the Annual Conference for Aberdeenshire’s Third Sector will be held on Monday April 30th, 2018. The Conference is an opportunity for the diverse organisations and groups that make up Aberdeenshire’s vibrant Third Sector to come together, network, learn and engage. This year’s conference theme resonates with the ethos of the voluntary sector and the principles of community empowerment, emphasising the need for collaboration and partnership working within communities and across sectors to tackle society’s most challenging issues.
Keynote Speaker: John Downie, Director of Public Affairs, SCVO
Following feedback from the AVA membership, a range of conference workshop options will be available to suit all interests and information needs. This includes input from Scottish Human Rights Consortium on Brexit: The impact and implications for the Third Sector, social enterprise support and guidance from SENSCOT and an insight into Participation Requests - a key strand of the Community Empowerment Act - from The Garioch Partnership. There will also be opportunities to engage in a Social Media and Marketing workshop as well as a workshop on the “Nuts and Bolts” of Funding applications. In addition to a stimulating keynote and choice of workshop topics, opportunities to network and seek support from AVA’s key teams, including membership, training and development support, will be available throughout the day.
We hope to see you there! The Conference will be held at Westhill Community Church, a venue with great conference facilities and accessible parking.
